Safety 1st Gives a Sneak Peek of Giant Car Seat at Safe Kids Day
Dorel Juvenile helped raise awareness and funds this past weekend to support the life-saving work being done by Safe Kids Worldwide at the Safe Kids Day. Presented by Nationwide® insurance at Smashbox Studios in Culver City, California, the event attracted over 800 attendees including hundreds of children, their parents, and a star-studded assembly of celebrities and their families.
Dorel Juvenile’s Safety 1st brand gave guests a sneak peek of their new larger-than-life inflatable Air Protect® car seat that will be traveling across the U.S. this summer. The giant seat is part of the Safety 1st Air Tour which will also include a pop-up tunnel that allows cars to drive-in for a seat check inspection by a Certified Passenger Safety Technician and gives consumers a place to interact with Safety 1st latest car seats and Air Protect technology. Jennie Freedman, Marketing Communications Manager, adds “All of the final elements of planning are being finalized now and we are excited to get out on the road and interact and delight our consumers. We think they will especially like this giant replica of our Grow and Go EX Air we are bringing along so they can really experience the comfort and safety of our car seats.”
The families at Safe Kids Day also enjoyed Hanna’s exotic animals, being motored around in power wheels and playing in a giant bathtub ball pit. The celebrities and families joined together to celebrate kids, prevent injuries and save lives. Guests were immersed in games that were so much fun, they didn’t realize they were learning important safety tips.
Celebrities attended the event with their families to shine a spotlight on preventable injuries, the leading cause of death to children in the United States. Drew Barrymore, Kelly Rowland, Jeff Goldblum, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Mischa Barton, Tom Arnold, Joey McIntyre, Breckin Meyer, Vanna White, Tammin Sursok, Donald Faison, Asia Monet Ray, Bill Horn & Scout Masterson, Robbie Keane, Cobi Jones, as well as Hudson Yang, Forrest Wheeler, Ian Chen & Luna Blaise from ABC’s “Fresh off the Boat” enjoyed exploring all the activities featured at the event. Event co-hosts, Dr. Peter and Laurie Waldstein, joined Kate Carr, President and CEO of Safe Kids Worldwide, and Mike Boyd, Senior Vice President of Marketing of Nationwide in welcoming each guest.

Safe Kids Day is presented by Nationwide and supported nationally by Dorel Juvenile’s Safety 1st brand along with other top tier brands: Johnson & Johnson, FedEx, Chevrolet, Kidde Fire Safety, and Tide. The 2016 Safe Kids Day campaign fundraising goal is $1.3 million. Proceeds from Safe Kids Day support the local, state and national injury prevention efforts of Safe Kids Worldwide.
The generosity of sponsors and host committee members enabled 58 deserving families from Westside Children’s Center, Mar Vista Family Center and Children’s Hospital of LA to attend Safe Kids Day.
