Your mission

Are you the kind of hands-on technical professional who can help our partners? In this role, you will wear many hats, including technical advisor, software developer and evangelist. You must possess a unique combination of deep technical skills and business acumen as well as a do-what-it-takes attitude to ensure our partners are delivering a delightful end user experience. Ideally, you’re someone who can write code with the best of them, but also wants to help guide the broader industry towards technology you believe in. You have immediate credibility with technologists and developers at all levels, from students to CIOs. You love to share your passion with others and exhibit good judgment in selecting strategic opportunities to do so. Key responsibilities

Provide technical guidance to Product team and help define requirements. Translate requirements into viable system architecture. Research and evaluate external partners to utilize in building successful consumer products. Work closely with external cross-functional development teams (embedded, backend, mobile apps), quality/test & manufacturing teams to drive execution. Oversee correct implementation of security best practices in products. Oversee external development teams design choices, code, API's and library choices. Maintain, oversee and manage access to Dorel's intellectual property assets (source code repositories and cloud infrastructure) with external partners.

Your profile

Minimum qualifications: BS in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent practical experience. 10+ years of embedded systems software development experience. Proven experience diagnosing and debugging complex, distributed system issues. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface in a cross-disciplinary manner. Hands on experience designing, building, and debugging distributed systems. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management. Preferred qualifications: Experience developing an embedded systems product in the consumer products industry. Proficiency in designing, building, and debugging distributed systems. Experience with video streaming technologies: video/audio compression (H.264, AAC, Opus), video streaming (RTSP, RTP) and P2P protocols. Strong understanding of security concepts as they apply to embedded systems, mobile applications, operating systems and web/cloud services. Experience with wireless technologies (point-to-point and WiFi). Experience with FE/BE software/mobile and API integration/development (Android/iOS, SaaS, Voice Assist). Experience with AWS technologies (EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, Elastic Beanstalk) and database systems (RDBMS and NOSQL). Strongly versed with 3 or more of the following languages C, C++, Java, Javascript, Swift, Python, SQL.
